Technical difficulties

Sorry for the lack of posts this week, but I'm experiencing some technical difficulties with my laptop computer. Hopefully I'll be back online full-time in the next few days.

In the mean time, thank goodness for Allegheny County's RAD tax funding for local libraries. I have a Mt. Lebanon library card, but I can use it to access the computers and books at USC, South Fayette and Bridgeville libraries. I wonder how the teabaggers would feel about that socialist plot to spread around the literature wealth? That tax is coming in handy as I'm able to drive just a few short miles to scan the Internet for jobs or pickup a book at the nearest library.

Anyway, from busted laptops, to hissing stoves, to broken house windows, to airbag deployment warning lights... the expenses just don't end. At least our public libraries are affordable.

  1. Looks like iJustine filmed a Mozy commercial in your living room.

  2. Or the guys from "Office Space" stopped by. Hang in there, brother. It's gotta get better, right?

  3. Ouch! I lost my hard drive on Thursday morning. I spent time trying to find a solution today. In the end, reformatted the drive, reloaded OS, and am mourning the loss of five years worth of work. All my writing, over 7,000 images, e-mail address book, ... gone! I did have my latest business data backed up, but am just starting to get my drivers reloaded, and start to reform the Bookmarks, etc. I had a hard time finding Bread Line. No search in Blogspot, I guess.

Rather than loose the data, I attempted to buy a new PC, and mount this drive as a second drive (hoping to recover something). Learning about incompatibilities, disk drives that aren't on the market any more, having my debit card rejected, store unwilling to accept a check (both with new PC ready to haul out the door, not having a few hundred dollars in cash in my pocket), blah, blah, blah. Not a good day here. Plus loosing nearly a whole day of task-paying work. Somehow loosing five years worth of work seemed pretty puny.

  4. Well, let me just add here that the above photo isn't of my laptop. That's just something I found on Google images. But it was a lot sexier than the frayed AC adapter cord that is at the heart of my computer woes.

Scott: Have you spoken to Tasty recently?

Brant: That's one of my all-time favorite movies, and the photo reminded me of the copier machine beat down by Michael Bolton.

Roger: Glad you were able to find us again, and better luck with the new hard drive.
