I will spend my final day of unemployment by traveling by plane to New York City to begin training tomorrow for my new job. Unlike most training I've had for jobs (mostly on the job) I will be staying a plush hotel on 44th and Broadway before taking my MacBook/iPhone to the AOL for a two-day training class on Monday and Tuesday.
It hasn't sunk in yet that it's over.
I still am having trouble coming to grips with the fact I have a job that will pay the bills. How sad is that? But once I come back to Pittsburgh, I'll be spending every waking minute building my website and promoting it to everyone living with in the boundaries of the Char Val school district (and beyond).
So while The Bread Line Blog may be winding down, my work is heating up. Stayed tuned to this blog to find out where I'll be writing next. Your readership will be incredibly important to me as I try to build a local website and try to expand into your neighborhood.

Congratulations, Mike. I've not checked into Bread Line for a couple of weeks because of work and medical issue pressures. I just happened by, and see your new posts.
ReplyDeleteI checked into Patch and see one is being planned for my community too. I've signed up for notification when it comes online.
The concept looks interesting, but the key will be selling advertising to keep it funded (at least as I understand the idea). The web site should be a very current running of happenings in the area. The person in charge will have a large responsibility to have many eyes and ears, and need to be many places to get the coverage necessary to keep it of value and interesting.
When do you expect to have Char-Valley site running?
I wish you well. I only know you through this blog (and the previous racing blog), but the opportunity sounds like a good fit for you.

ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of exciting things happening with Patch. I don't have a definitive launch date for my Char Valley website, but I will make an announcement on this blog when that happens. Plus, even if you don't live in Bridgeville, Collier, Heidelberg or Scott, there's a good chance a Patch website is coming to your neighborhood.
